Pink walks to celebrate the awakening of spring

These pink buds enchant the entire Palatinate region.

FACTS

Price: free

Weather: during almond blossom in early March

Age: suitable for kindergarten children

Location: Gimmeldingen

From Mussbach to Keschdeplätzel

Distance approx.: 3 km

Without a car – take the train to Mussbach station and from there walk along the street "Am Hasenstein" to the right into the vineyards. Continue along the farm tracks through the vineyards uphill to Gimmeldingen – past pink-blossomed almond trees and via the "Keschdeplätzl" picnic area into the heart of the Almond Blossom Festival.

Almond Mile in Edenkoben

Distance: approx. 2 km

Another hotspot – the Villastraße in Edenkoben, leading up to Villa Ludwigshöhe, is lined on both sides with pink-blossomed almond trees. Here you can take a stroll suitable for strollers and walk through the vineyards.

The alla hopp facility is located directly at the edge of Edenkoben, and further up is the valley station of the Rietburgbahn, which will begin operating on weekends in March.

From forest to coffee mill

Distance approx.: 2.5 km

The flag tower in Bad Dürkheim, also known as the "coffee mill," is located on a section of the Palatinate Almond Blossom Trail. Park at the Wachenheim rest area and walk up the terraced vineyard. During almond blossom season, it's also worthwhile to walk or cycle along the paved path towards the forest, following the almond tree avenue.

Tip: During the flowering season, you can also book guided tours here with the municipality of Gimmeldingen.
