Get to the rock face - it's possible even with a child

The Palatinate region is known far beyond Germany's borders as a climbing paradise – why not go climbing with the kids? With a guide, of course!

Location: Palatinate - the exact location will be determined by the guide
The sandstone glistens and the large rock towers before us - up there? Oh yes!
An adrenaline rush - absolutely!
Even the adults could climb.
We tried out the family course offered by Adrenalin Concept and met some great other families. We were in excellent hands with our instructor. And since we could belay each other in the group, even we adults got to try some routes.
Equipment was provided
Everything was provided for us, from helmets and harnesses to safety equipment. After a safety briefing and a bit of knot tying instruction, we set off.
The routes were prepared for all of us, and we could start climbing right away. To finish off, there was a test of courage for anyone who wanted it: abseiling over the rock arch! Even the youngest, at six years old, arrived at the bottom beaming with pride.
We brought our own food. The course lasted 6 hours and cost €110 for 1 adult and 1 child.
Nature and Leisure Association also offers courses.
Alternatively, Yan Gerbes from Natur und Freizeit eV also offers a family climbing day , but this is only for children aged 8 and up. Prices are around €50. Places fill up quickly, so it's best to secure your spot at the beginning of the season in spring.
