CHRISTMAS MOOD IS COMING HERE

In 2025, over 100 nativity scenes will be spread throughout the town of Bornheim, and each one is different – from classic to oriental to a nativity scene made of gummy bears; the people of Bornheim will put you in the Christmas spirit!

Starting point at the guardhouse

The best starting point is at the Wachthäusl at Hauptstraße 47 - you can find the link to directions below directly on Google Maps.

There, a whole nativity scene awaits you, lovingly crafted down to the smallest detail and even featuring a small organ that the children can play themselves. You can pick up a flyer here at the guardhouse, which also includes a map.

Nativity scenes made of concrete, Playmobil, window paint or gummy bears

The stroll through the Nativity Village is naturally most beautiful at dusk – I recommend walking around Gartenstraße. There you'll find my highlights in a very small area. The illuminated nativity scenes are located in the courtyards and gardens of Bornheim residents, who have all built and decorated them themselves. I never would have expected such a variety: modern interpretations of concrete, with window paint, made from Playmobil, with gummy bears, or quite historical and with lots of moss. All the nativity scenes are completely different, and the children run from house to house because they've already discovered the next one. And it's not just the children who are thrilled – I'm incredibly impressed by what Bornheim has managed to put together! We actually couldn't manage to see all the nativity scenes in one evening, but we'll be back!! The nativity scenes in Bornheim will be on display from November 30, 2025, to January 6, 2026, and will get you in the Christmas spirit.

Nativity scene rally with Actionbound

Starting December 3rd, 2025, the Bornheim Stork Center will once again be offering a nativity scene rally. You can start the digital scavenger hunt using the Actionbound app. The 2.2-kilometer route takes you past a beautiful selection of nativity scenes and includes activities and tasks. The tour is largely barrier-free and can be completed with a balance bike, stroller, or scooter.

The starting and finishing point is at the Stork Centre in Bornheim; simply scan the QR code there with the free Actionbound app (it's best to install it beforehand) and get started.

By the way: Changing facilities are available at the Stork Centre during opening hours!

After the tour, we need some refreshments - on weekends, in addition to "Lehrer Lämpel" and "Inges Café", the youth fire brigade and the courtyard at Hauptstr. 22 also offer refreshments such as mulled wine, punch and a little something to eat.

Nativity scene tours

During the Nativity Village event, guided tours of the nativity scene take place every Wednesday and Sunday at 5:00 PM. The meeting point is at the guardhouse at Hauptstraße 47. No registration is required. For more information, please contact Ulla Kaub at 06348/1539.
