"But I can't belay!" - You don't need to. Because in this climbing gym, an automatic harness system secures you. Sounds spooky? Not at all. It works a bit like a car seatbelt. With a sudden movement, the harness closes and lowers you slowly and in a controlled manner.
No prior knowledge required
Here, children can climb on a total of 30 different routes without helmets or belaying partners. Children under 12 years of age require adult supervision, especially to clip into the climbing routes. A clear and concise on-site training session demonstrates how everything works. One adult can supervise up to three children under 12. You can conveniently book your tickets for your time slot in advance via the SmartClimb website .
Different levels of difficulty
All the routes are technically undemanding and therefore perfect for children, even if they've never climbed before. My tip: Start with the honeycomb route; this allows them to familiarize themselves with the height and rappelling, as it takes a moment of courage to let yourself "fall" into the rope, which then catches you immediately.
There are two elements that do require a helmet: these are the freestanding bamboo trunks and the gorilla, where you jump from a platform 9 meters high onto a freely swinging banana. The gorilla also has a minimum age of 8 years.
The routes are especially fun: for example, climb up a transparent wall at the same time and grin at each other, or climb side by side on the speed wall, where you can also time yourself.
You can then test it out for 1 hour, and if you still haven't had enough, you can extend it by another hour (please inquire about prices on site).
Only for heights of 1.10m and above.
To ensure safety, you must be at least 1.10m and no more than 2.00m tall to climb. Children under 4 years old are not allowed in the climbing area, and backpacks must remain in the designated area. This ensures that climbing remains safe for everyone.
Climbing makes you hungry
By the way: If you're not climbing and are just supervising, you don't pay anything. We think that's incredibly fair! If you get hungry after your climbing session, you can refuel with pizza or tarte flambée. We found the prices really fair here too.
