The story
It's Whit Tuesday. All of Deidesheim is eagerly awaiting the traditional billy goat auction. Just a few minutes ago, the billy goat was greeted with great cheers at the southern entrance to the town. But suddenly, there's a stir: the billy goat has mysteriously disappeared.

Even though the puzzles are challenging enough and can only be meaningfully solved from about age 8, the overall experience is designed to be family-friendly:
The tour takes you on a roughly 2.1 km journey through Deidesheim, featuring nine stations full of riddles, castles, and secrets. Children under 14 play for free. So grab your friends and discover Deidesheim from a new perspective! The riddle backpack can be shared by multiple people, or you can play against each other in teams.
High-quality puzzles
What we found very positive: No screen marathon — the material consists of handcrafted wood, leather and natural materials, and you work a lot with analog cues on site.
You're out in the fresh air, discovering beautiful corners of Deidesheim and enjoying a nice break in between or afterwards, for example with a stop at a restaurant.
In short: Ideal for parents, groups, and children's teams if you want to do something special together—and not just go for a walk or to the cinema. Teenagers will also find it challenging, and you can prove as a team that you're a clever family.
Start & Duration
The circular route begins and ends at the town hall in Deidesheim, and you should allow approximately 2.5–3 hours. Arrival and departure are ideally by train, as the train station is directly opposite the starting point. Please note that the area is very crowded during the Christmas market or the local fair.
Difficulty level
Easy in the sense of "easily doable," but the puzzles require combinational skills. They are too tricky for children under about 8 years old—hence my recommendation: children who enjoy puzzles should participate from about 8 years old; younger children can come along as "assistants" and help with the puzzle, for example.
The puzzle backpack also contains help cards, so you can help yourself at any time.
Family moment
I especially loved how you can simply enjoy the town between puzzle stations. So, don't just focus on solving tasks, but also consciously take time to look around and take short breaks – for example, for an ice cream or a slice of cake in Deidesheim. You'll come across a park with playground facilities right at the beginning and again towards the end. Why not bring a picnic? The game allows for breaks at any time.
