Playing in the Markwardanlage in Annweiler unterm Trifels

The Gruffalo is coming back

A beautiful play trail has been created in the Markward complex in Annweiler, which can be perfectly combined with a trip to Trifels Castle.

FACTS

Price: free

Weather: dry weather

Age: For kids up to about 6 years old

Dogs: allowed on a leash

Location: Annweiler

The newly designed Markwardanlage has been made accessible and offers a beautiful playground in the middle of the circular path, at the highest point in the park.

With a slide tower, climbing ropes and climbing net, swings and a sand area, a truly relaxing playground has been created here, which can be combined in many ways with other excursions:

Where to park?

Depending on your plans, there are two good parking spots. If you want to hike up to the castle, the hiking parking lot at the Markwardanlage is a good option, from where the Trifels Adventure Trail also winds its way up (not suitable for strollers).

If you just want to quickly go to the playground, the mini-golf course, or the Pfalz llamas, the upper parking lot is more suitable. Motorhomes are also allowed to park there.

Bring a picnic and a change of clothes

You'll find plenty of rest areas, benches, and picnic spots in the Markwardanlage park. Because a stream runs through the park and some areas are accessible, I recommend bringing a change of clothes. There's also a public restroom.
