Ice rinks during the Christmas season
In Neustadt an der Weinstraße (from November 2nd, 2025) and Kaiserslautern you'll find ice rinks that are open during the Christmas season. You can also go ice skating again this year in Karlsruhe .
No ice rink in Landau and Frankenthal
The ice rink in Landau will not be open this season. Frankenthal also will not have an ice rink this year for economic reasons; the IceDome in Frankenthal will not open until 2026.
Ice skates for children and adults
If you don't have your own skates, you can rent freshly sharpened skates on site for a rental fee and a deposit (bring your ID or similar!). At both locations in Ludwigshafen and Zweibrücken, you can also have your own skates sharpened.
In addition, there are special skating aids available for beginners, which help them learn to ice skate. In Ludwigshafen, these are chairs on runners, which are also perfect for younger children.
Bring cash
Currently, in Ludwigshafen you need to book your running time online in advance; for all other purchases on site, please bring sufficient cash. You will also need cash in Zweibrücken.
Hungry while ice skating?
In Ludwigshafen, the bistro is at your disposal. Here you can order small dishes or drinks without having to take off your ice skates.
In Zweibrücken, the Flyers Sportsbar welcomes you for refreshments before, during or after ice skating.
Racket race on Sunday in LU
At the Ludwigshafen ice rink, beginners can enjoy a stick skating session on Sunday mornings from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., and they are welcome to bring their own puck. Tickets also include admission to the morning session.

An ice disco will take place at the ICE Arena in Zweibrücken on Saturday from 6 pm to 10 pm. So lace up your skates and hit the ice with disco music and light effects.
