What is a pumptrack?

Unlike smooth asphalt tracks, this pump track is a dirt park – a course made of earth and gravel with rollers, berms, and small jumps. It's ridden with mountain bikes or BMX bikes. By rhythmically pumping up and down, you gain speed – and that's not just great fun for kids, but for adults too.

The pumptrack in Neustadt-Haardt

The facility is located on the outskirts of Haardt, nestled between forest and vineyards. It's ideal for trying things out – whether it's your first laps over small rollers or something more challenging with jumps. The track is designed so that even beginners can ride comfortably and quickly get a feel for the movement.

It's divided into the pump track and the jump lines. You should start on the pump track if you want to develop a feel for your bike and learn the pumping motion. The jump lines are reserved for experienced riders. Here, you should first build up your skills and feel for the bike before you start hurtling down the walls.

👉 Important: The pump track is suitable for children aged 8 and up. Helmets and pads are mandatory – you can't do it without them!

👉 Attention: The facility must not be used when wet, as the track will be damaged and it will also be very slippery.

👉 Only MTB or BMX bikes are allowed – scooters are not permitted.

More than just a pump track: climbing holds & football pitch

Besides the pumptrack, there are other attractions waiting for the kids:

Three large climbing stones invite you to scramble and provide a change of pace when a break from driving is needed.
A football pitch offers the perfect opportunity for a quick game of football in between other activities.

This ensures that even siblings or friends who don't want to go won't get bored.

Stop at the Ludwigsbrunnen forest inn

Right next to the pump track is the Ludwigsbrunnen forest tavern – the perfect spot for a break. From the deck chairs and tables, you have a direct view of the track. While the kids are doing a few more laps, you can relax with a coffee or a cold drink. They also offer snacks and refreshments.

Who is this trip suitable for?

Children aged 8 and over with MTB or BMX can ride safely here and practice their first tricks.

Teens and adults have at least as much fun – the facility is exciting for all age groups.

Even non-drivers can find variety in climbing or kicking a ball around.

Practical information for parents

Parking: Parking spaces can be found near the Waldschenke Ludwigsbrunnen.

Stop for refreshments: Waldschenke Ludwigsbrunnen with a view of the pumptrack.

Equipment: Helmet and pads are mandatory. Gloves are also recommended. Pack plasters and something to comfort you. Otherwise, the rule is: fall down, get up, fix your bike, and try again right away.

Combination tip: The location on the edge of the Palatinate Forest is ideal for combining the trip with a short hike or a walk through the vineyards.
