In this article, I have compiled the best collection points for sweet chestnuts that fans and chestnut experts in the Palatinate region have told me about.
In addition, there are 15 destinations that you can perfectly combine with collecting chestnuts.

Excursions with chestnut hotspots
Why not combine chestnut gathering with an outing? Here are some destinations where you can combine chestnut collecting with a day trip. I wish you lots of luck with your collecting!

Pussier-Päddel
The sculpture trail is lined with large chestnut trees. There are also many chestnuts to collect up the slope.

Rietburg
The excursion begins and ends at Villa Ludwigshöhe, and right there you'll find huge chestnut trees waiting for you.

Klausental Hut
From the Klausentalhütte to the Zeter Berghaus you can collect the chestnuts along the way and enjoy a magnificent view at the top.

Entrance to Birkenheide
At the entrance to Birkenheide, at the P&R car park, it's about a 5-minute walk into the woods. Collect chestnuts there and then visit the free wildlife park.

Orensfels
The path to Orensfels is challenging but absolutely packed with sweet chestnuts. My tip: Hike to Orensfels first and then collect them on the way back. Clever, right?

Forest Shower
Same starting point as for Orensfels – but this route is suitable for strollers. There are also many chestnut trees here, whose fruits you simply need to collect.

Forest Spirits Trail
On the Forest Spirits Trail in Oberotterbach, you'll find several chestnut trees along a level path. A great combination for children, of course.

Föhrlenberg
Part of this tour even runs along the Palatinate Chestnut Trail, and here too you will find sweet chestnut trees.
However, the tour is a bit more challenging for children.

To the Jung-Pfalz Hut
Everything is full of chestnuts – some big, some small, all going into the collection bag. Collecting chestnuts and enjoying the playground, the best combination ever.

Chestnut Adventure Trail
Want to do more than just collect chestnuts? The Chestnut Adventure Trail in Leinsweiler is brand new. It's stroller-friendly and really cute!

Ringelsberg Hut
Those who don't want to hike the challenging trail to Orensfels will find plenty of chestnuts on the way to the Ringelsberghütte, which has a great playground. Open Sundays only!

Wallberg Hut
Up to the Wallberg – a hiking trail located on the edge of the Haardt Mountains leads to the Wallberg Hut. Here you'll find not only plenty of chestnuts but also fantastic hut fare.

At the Bismarck Tower
Park at Lindemannsruhe and you'll be surrounded by sweet chestnut trees. You can combine collecting them with a pleasant little walk to the Bismarck Tower and enjoy the view.

Landeck Castle
There are many sweet chestnut trees around Landeck Castle near Klingenmünster. Conquer the castle and fill your bags!
